Movie of the Book Club
The movie group meets in the evening at least once a month on the third Tuesday to watch a new movie at the AMC Showplace or a newly released DVD at the library. The group sees movies based on books or otherwise connected to literature whenever possible. A discussion at Perkins Restaurant on Henderson Street follows.
The next outing will be the evening of Tuesday, March 18. We’ll see the 6:50 pm showing of The Lego Movie. The Lego Movie has a 96% rating on rottentomatoes.com and has done incredibly well in theaters. It is an animated movie with appeal for adults as well as kids. We’ll head to Perkins afterwards for discussion.
There will also be a free showing of the movie based on Markus Zusak’s book The Book Thief at the library next Wednesday, 3/19, at 5:30 pm. It played in Galesburg briefly last fall and just came out on DVD.
The April outing will be the evening of Tuesday, April 15. The exact time and title will be announced about a week in advance.
Never been to Movie Club? Whether you only see one or two movies a year or you go to the movies every week, you are welcome to join us. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the Movie Club’s email distribution list. There are no dues and no commitment. Newcomers are always welcome!
If you don’t find us at the theater, ask restaurant staff to help you find us. Both the movie and the restaurant are pay-your-own-way.
