New Library Information
The Galesburg Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking to build a new library to serve the current and anticipated needs of the Galesburg community. The library is to be constructed on the block south of West Main Street bounded by West Street to the east, Simmons Street to the south and Academy Street to the west. The entire block will be used for construction of the new library, parking, and a green space.

March 2020: The Library Board of Trustees continues to purchase properties on the 200 block of West Main Street. Library staff and trustees are updating building plans with architects and preparing to submit those revisions to the Illinois State Library by March 31st.
