Many employers double or triple an employee’s gifts to charitable organizations through their matching gift program. Ask your human resource office for details and the necessary forms.
In addition to gifts during your lifetime, consider an estate gift to continue the library’s work for generations to come. Please contact the director at (309) 343-6118 or by email for additional information.
Memorial Gifts and Donations
A contribution to the library is a wonderful way to honor a friend or family member, to commemorate a birthday, retirement, anniversary, graduation, or to recognize the death of a friend or family member. Library staff are available to help you choose appropriate items. Please contact the director at (309) 343-6118 or by email for additional information.

Donations of Books and Materials
The library welcomes your donations of books, audio CDs, music CDs, and DVDs in good condition. Materials given to the library become the property of the library and the library may take any action, including disposition, with respect to them. Some materials may be added to the library collection; others may be sold in book sales, with proceeds benefiting the library. Appraisals for the value of donated materials will not be given. Materials may be dropped off at the library anytime during library hours except for a few weeks before each book sale. Bringing items in early gives the Friends time to sort and organize them.) For a list of donation guidelines, please refer to the Friends & Foundation page.
Donations of Historical Documents and Photographs
The library is interested in receiving donations of materials documenting the history of Galesburg and Knox County. The library acknowledges gifts for tax purposes, but cannot be responsible for assessing the monetary value of gifts. Contact the library’s archivist at (309) 343-6118 or by email for additional information.
