FREE musical performance of 1619: The Journey of a People. For all ages!

1619: The Journey of a People commemorates the struggles, recognizes the heroes, and analyzes the American journey towards freedom and equality for African-Americans. The performance will be followed by a Q&A session. It stars Ted Williams III, Shannon Stiles, Marchello Lee, and Simbryt Dortch.

Ted Williams III is an actor, an author, and the creator of 1619: The Journey of a People. 1619 was nominated for the 2020 August Wilson Award for Best Writing of a Musical by the Black Theater Alliance Awards.

Presented by the Galesburg Public Library in partnership with the NAACP Galesburg and the Galesburg Public Library Foundation through the Illinois Humanities Road Scholars Speakers Bureau.
