The Galesburg Public Library provides access to a number of ebook and audiobook collections. To use ADML and eRead Illinois, you must have a GPL library card. Check out our offerings below for more information.
Over 100 area libraries in central Illinois participate in the Alliance Digital Media Library, a contracted service with OverDrive, Inc. New titles are added regularly. The service includes titles purchased by the group of libraries and thousands of titles in the public domain. To check out items, you will need a valid Galesburg Public Library card, a computer or device, an Internet connection, and the Libby app available through the Apple Store or Google Play. (A list of compatible devices can be found here.) At the end of the lending period, titles will automatically expire and are returned to the collection. There is a checkout limit. The ADML contains both ebooks and audiobooks. Please let us know if there are additional titles you would like to see in the digital collection. eRead Illinois is funded by Secretary of State Jesse White through the Illinois State Library. If you have a library card from a participating library, you can download eRead Illinois electronic books to your tablet, computer, or other device. eRead Illinois is on an Axis 360 software platform from Baker & Taylor. New titles are added regularly. To check out items, you will need a valid Galesburg Public Library card, a computer or device, an Internet connection, and the Axis 360 app, available through the Apple Store or Google Play. (Axis 360’s compatible device list is located here). Please note that basic Kindles cannot be used with eRead Illinois. Inkie.org Library features content by Illinois authors, creators, and communities. This includes over 300 e-books from Arcadia Publishing. These titles, which focus on the history of Illinois towns and significant events in the state’s past, are available for simultaneous use. They can be checked out by anyone in Illinois; no library card or login is required. Visit https://illinois.biblioboard.com for more information and to access the resources available.

Gale Virtual Reference Library With Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL) you can browse, search and download eBook articles anytime from any Internet-connected device. Access reference materials on Arts, Biography, Business, Education, Environment, History, Law, Literature, Medicine, Nation and World, Religion, and Science. If you are prompted for a password, it is gale_log.
Salem Press
Access to resources from Salem Press, including 50 States, Historical Encyclopedia of American Business, Careers in Healthcare, Careers in Communications and Media, Careers in Environment & Conservation, Careers in Human Services, Contemporary Biographies in Hospitality and Tourism, the nine-volume Countries, Peoples, and Cultures, and the Decades series, 1920-1970. If prompted to log in, use your library card bar code number. The D must be capitalized.
