The Galesburg Community Arts Center and the Galesburg Public Library are collaborating with Illinois Humanities on an NEA Big Read. More than 15 libraries, nonprofits, and community groups across Illinois are hosting free book groups on the theme of Reconsidering the American Dream.* We will discuss the novel Infinite Country by Patricia Engel in February and March at the Galesburg Community Arts Center. Copies are available for checkout on the book club shelves at the library. You do not need to attend both discussions. The March discussion will also include a craft.
Join the discussion of the Galesburg Reads teen tie-in book while making a paracord bracelet!
In Cold the Night, Fast the Wolves by Meg Long, Sena must use her survival skills to lead a team of scientists through a dangerous sled race across the frozen tundra and its monstrous denizens, with only her wolf companion Iska to help.
A limited number of copies of the book are available for free (and yours to keep!) at the Reference Desk. Visit the desk or email email@example.com to request a copy.
During the discussion, we will also craft bracelets out of paracord.
This activity will take place in the back room of Pizza House, at 132 E. Simmons St.
